Every single place in Indonesia talking about agate (batu akik) and natural stone (batu alam). In recent times, agate was explode in trending topic. Offered price also differ one another, from economic into fantastic. There are so many articles notices to be careful against the artificiality of those stones. Few of simple methods also provided as tips to test naturalness of stone. Lets say contained fibers, mass, cold surface, shines, tears method, burnt method, etc. However, those methods are un-measurable and abstract, but still acceptable for initial testing as people usually did. Some tools also produced to test the stones although it will not represents all naturalness indicators. The measurable testing may conducted at Lab. However, there are some stone-owners claimed their stone 100% natural but still not passed the test at the Lab as well. So, unless you are geologist or lab staff, there are so many things you have to learn clearly first.
Anyway, I will not discuss about this topic further and let the others do that.
In this time, I will talk about the shell ring. Shells were used as a stone holder typically made by metal element. We try to made it by coconut-shell, 100% hand-made and of course 100% natural. Instead of wood, coconut shell have longer durability (you can check the wood and coconut-shell comparison here). And the result as in pics below.
